The exhibition at Kunst Meran Merano Arte offers, for the first time, an exhaustive review of the artistic legacy of Lisa Ponti (1922-2019), artist, writer and for many years editor of the magazine “Domus”.

Although she has always drawn, Lisa Ponti made her first solo show only at the age of 70, in 1992. Her works on paper , with strong and dynamic lines, are characterized by clarity and immediacy, as well as by a wonderful poetic dimension, by a refined humor and a sober elegance. A wide selection of these exceptional works will be offered at Kunst Meran Merano Arte, always realized on A4 sheets. The artist had stated: “It is good to use a sheet that is always the same, so the drawing knows where to land”. In fact, his drawings seem like flights of thought, fixed on paper in a few minutes, combining simple pencil strokes, sometimes colored, with watercolors, minimal collages or experimenting with colors on burnt paper.
