From 4 July to 27 August 2023
Accepted the Artsupp Card
the Wandering Library, an exhibition of artists' books called Atlanti Babelici and created by Italian creatives during their crossings in various Italian coastal cities .
All the Babelic Atlases are created with material recovered on the street, in artisan shops, in front of the sea, during chance encounters around the city: fabrics, displays, newspapers, market paper, fruit packing paper, twine used by fishermen and even more.
The material was subsequently assembled with the use of various techniques such as weaving, collage, frottage, paper converting and other artisan processes from which unique objects were born in the form of leporello, or books that open like fans.
The Atlases are inspired by five horizons - SEA, EARTH, BODY, SKY, MOVEMENT - which are summed up by the most powerful and fascinating one, the personal horizon, the artist's gaze.
Furthermore, for each Atlas there is an accompanying poem created by the writer Gianluca Caporaso through an assembly of ten key words identified by the artists.
The Library will be exhibited at Casa Ortega until Sunday 27 August 2023.
The Errante Library is conceived and curated by the artistic collective La luna al guinzaglio , with the partnership of the University of Basilicata, thanks to a grant in 2021 from the Third Pillar International Foundation of Rome
