The Musée des arts décoratifs, de la faïence et de la mode is a museum in Marseille. It is dedicated to decorative arts, ceramics and fashion. It is also called "Château Borely", as it is located in the castle of the Borely family, a noble French family, built in the second half of the 18th century as a summer residence. The castle still retains much of its original appearance, with some particularly noteworthy rooms, such as the salon doré, the library and the chapel. During the 19th century, the castle was donated to the city of Marseille, which made it the ancient archaeological museum of the city. The current museum was opened in 2013, bringing together the collections of several ancient museums in Marseille. The museum brings together a permanent collection of 2,500 works, including furniture, ceramics, glass works, carpets and tapestries, art objects, rare exotic objects, fashion collections and accessories, covering an arc from the 18th century to the present. Various temporary exhibitions are also organized in the museum.
