The Musée des arts décoratifs, de la faïence et de la mode is a museum in Marseille. It is dedicated to decorative arts, ceramics, and fashion. It is also known as Château Borely, as it is located in the castle of the Borely family, a noble French family, built in the second half of the 18th century as a summer residence. The castle still retains much of its original appearance, with some particularly notable rooms, such as the salon doré, the library, and the chapel. In the 19th century, the castle was donated to the city of Marseille, which turned it into the city's ancient archaeological museum. The current museum was opened in 2013, bringing together collections from various ancient museums in Marseille. The museum houses a permanent collection of 2500 works, including furniture, ceramics, glass works, carpets and tapestries, art objects, rare exotic items, fashion collections and accessories, spanning from the 18th century to the present day. The museum also hosts various temporary exhibitions.
