Whitworth is an art gallery in Manchester, England, located in Whitworth Park and part of the University of Manchester.

The gallery contains about 55,000 objects and was reopened in 2015 after a redevelopment that resaturated and doubled its exhibition spaces.

The gallery was founded in 1889 by Robert Dukinfield Darbishire thanks to a donation from Sir Joseph Whitworth. It was originally known as The Whitworth Institute and Park. The first building was completed in 1908. In 1958 the gallery became part of the University of Manchester. In 2010 the art gallery received 172,000 visitors, making it one of the ten most visited tourist attractions in the Manchester area.

The Whitworth Gallery houses remarkable collections of sculptures, watercolors, fabrics and wallpapers. The gallery also has works by modern artists including Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Ford Madox Brown, Eduardo Paolozzi, Francis Bacon, William Blake, David Hockney, LS Lowry, Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh and Pablo Picasso and a beautiful collection of works by JMW Turner. One of his most famous works is Sir Jacob Epstein's Genesis marble sculpture. The Musgrave Kinley Outsider Art Collection is also kept at the Whitworth Gallery.
