The Fundacion Mapfre in Madrid collects numerous works by some of the most renowned artists and illustrators of the 20th century: Matisse, Schiele, Degas, Rodin, Picabia and Klimt and obviously Spanish exponents such as Picasso, who owns the flagship of the entire collection. that is the Suite Vollard printing group and then again Miró, Gutiérrez Solana, Regoyos, Chillida and Vázquez Díaz. The collection also contains works by Penagos, the Spanish art deco illustrator par excellence.
Fundacion Mapfren also has a photography section which includes artists such as Walker Evans, Lee Friedlander, Diane Arbus and Helen Lewitt, Fazal Sheihk and Dayanita Singh. Here too, Spanish artists such as Joan Colom and Alberto García-Alix and Paul Strand, Graciela Iturbide and Nicholas Nixon are present with the series "The Brown Sisters".
The Fundacion Mapfre also houses the Espacio Mirò with a permanent exhibition dedicated to the artist.
