For the first time, a major exhibition on the world's best-known English artist arrives in Livorno, a real cult for more than a generation. Banksy Realismo Capitalista, produced and organized by MetaMorfosi and promoted by the Municipality of Livorno, from 17 December 2022 to 18 March 2023, will allow the public to admire some of the most representative works of the last decades, known all over the world for their disruptive charge and for their transversal, political and social messages, capable of interpreting the complex reality of our times with the quick and intuitive strokes of street art.

In the rich selection of serigraphs on display at the Polo Culturale Bottini dell'Olio in Livorno, some real symbolic images of the British artist's production: Girl with Balloon, known by all as "the little girl with the red balloon", perhaps the most beloved of all Banksy's works, and Love is in the Air, the "Flower Thrower" which reproduces on a red background the stencil depicting a young man throwing a bunch of flowers, symbol of an anti-militarist revolution that overturns the common sense of urban warfare.

The Livorno exhibition treats Banksy for the first time as if he were a great classical artist. Thanks to a collection of original and authenticated pieces, spectators can delve into the artistic imagination of an author who has been traversing the world cultural scene for over twenty years and who has also chosen the current war scenarios as a stage for his artistic messages, showing once again his ability to stay in the midst of the present.

Structured in a strictly non-commercial manner, Banksy Capitalist Realism is not an immersive exhibition of reproductions - but a collection of original works that allow viewers to enter the contemporary world seen through the eyes of a great artist, capable of leaving his mark thanks to a simple message but with a disruptive impact on reality.
