The MAC Museum of Contemporary Art in Lissone presents REPLAY - Context-specific installations and meetings on contemporary museology, a project curated by Francesca Guerisoli which includes a year-long reflection on the collection of the historic Lissone Prize and on its set up in the Gino Meloni Room in the basement of the museum. The objective of REPLAY is to renew the attention towards the permanent collection of the Prize, triggering reflections on the values of the work of art, the methods of preparation, use, cultural mediation and collecting.

From November 2021 to November 2022, the Sala Gino Meloni will see a succession of four context-specific interventions by contemporary artists who will develop individual installations starting from the specific features of the collection and the staging of the Lissone Prize, which will be accompanied by two meetings each time. theme with experts from the world of art and culture.

REPLAY will debut with Flavio Favelli and the environmental installation Casematte (from 19 November 2021 to 29 January 2022), accompanied by two conferences conducted by the artistic director of MAC Francesca Guerisoli: with Lorenzo Balbi, artistic director MAMbo - Museum of Modern Art of Bologna , on 17 December 2021 at 18.00 and with Francesca Comisso, art historian, teacher and independent curator, on 14 January 2022 at 18.00.

The title of the review, REPLAY, alludes to putting into play, reinterpreting, acting; a re-play to rearrange, rearrange, recompose: a series of dynamic actions designed to enhance the Lissone Prize collection in an increasingly inclusive way and in step with the needs of society. The continuous comparison put in place by REPLAY will touch on themes dear to most of the museums that have a permanent collection and at the same time produce and / or promote contemporary art. The artistic interventions and talks are therefore also designed to generate a debate that interests not only the MAC, but all those museums that have common characteristics, with the idea of creating a system, a community of thought, a dialogue with the public, going beyond its geographical area of reference.
