From 19 October to 18 January 2026
The MAC Museum of Contemporary Art in Lissone announces the 2025 edition of the Lissone Prize, a biennial event dedicated to painting that today stands out as one of the most significant formats in the panorama of contemporary art in Italy, realized this year with the contribution of the Lombardy Region within the Unique Notice 2025. In the year of celebrations for the twenty-five years of the MAC's opening, the Lissone Prize stands out for its renewed international scope, bringing together six Italian and international artists selected by three prominent curators active globally.
The curators of the 2025 Lissone Prize are Lorenzo Balbi, Director of MAMbo - Museum of Modern Art in Bologna, who invited artists Viola Leddi (1993, Milan; lives and works in Geneva) and Valerio Nicolai (1988, Gorizia; lives and works in Milan); Hanne Mugaas, Director of Kunsthall Stavanger and Head of Programme OCA - Office for Contemporary Art Norway, who selected Cecilia Granara (1991, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; lives and works in Mexico) and Giuliana Rosso (1992, Chivasso; lives and works in Turin); Stefano Raimondi, Director of MAC in Lissone, who involved Landon Metz (1985, Phoenix, Arizona; lives and works in New York) and Ariel Schlesinger (1980, Jerusalem; lives and works in Berlin, New York, and Quito).
The new format of the Lissone Prize has been revolutionized under the artistic direction of Stefano Raimondi and unfolds in an exhibition that presents, on all three floors of the Museum, a selection of the different research works developed by the six invited artists, each of whom will create a specially commissioned unpublished work that will become part of the Museum's permanent collection.
