From March 30 to June 29, 2025, the MAC - Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Lissone (MB) presents the first solo exhibition in a public institution by Ismaele Nones (Trento, 1992), titled Who I talk to when I talk, curated by Stefano Raimondi. The exhibition opens the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the museum, recently renovated and now part of AMACI - Associazione dei Musei d’Arte Contemporanea Italiani, which will also offer free admission in 2025. Additionally, on the occasion of MiArt and Milano Art Week, on Sunday, April 6 at 11:00, a special visit with the artist and the curator will take place. With Who I talk to when I talk, the Prime project continues, accrediting MAC as a center for research and experimentation, giving voice for the first time to contemporary artists who, through their works, aim to establish a dialogue with those in the museum's permanent collection, acquired during the historic Lissone Prize - particularly between 1946 and 1967, when the city confirmed its significance internationally for documenting European artistic research. Ismaele Nones' work aims to generate and define new creative spaces through a continuous and fluid dialogue between current themes and languages, techniques, and subjects drawn from the iconographic world. In this process, an imaginative territory develops where traditional barriers separating sacred and profane, ancient and contemporary, dissolve, allowing for a freer exploration, devoid of constraints. By blending images from past times, symbols, and meanings, themes related to the human condition emerge and intertwine, such as the dimension of conflict and struggle, the exploration of sexuality and eros, the sense of isolation and loneliness, the search for conviviality and sharing, leading to feelings of alienation and social inertia. The exhibition occupies all four floors of the museum with over fifty works, establishing for the first time a relationship between the internal space of MAC and the surrounding square. Through the restoration of large and bright windows, a selection of works will directly interact with the urban space.
