Casa Fernando Pessoa, located in the Campo de Ourique neighborhood in Lisbon (Rua Coelho da Rocha 16–18), is the house where the famous poet lived between 1920 and 1935. After a long restoration, it reopened in August 2020 as a cultural center dedicated to his life, work, and the world of poetry.
The building houses a permanent exhibition on three floors, which tells the creative universe of Pessoa: from the heteronyms such as Alberto Caeiro and Álvaro de Campos, to the portrait of the poet by Almada Negreiros and sketches by Júlio Pomar.
At the center of the exhibition is a narrative carpet of memory, writing, and artistic interpretations, in addition to the private library, declared a National Treasure, with over 1,300 volumes that belonged to the poet, many of which are available for digital consultation.
Also on display are personal items, original furniture, and period documents, as well as contemporary works and installations that interpret his thoughts and cultural influence. Visiting it means embarking on a journey into Pessoa's mind and verses, in an intimate and reflective place where literature, memory, and poetic creation merge into a unique cultural experience.
