The BMAD - Berardo Museu Arte Deco is a museum dedicated to the Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco movements, located in the heart of Lisbon, in the Alcântara district. Occupying the historic summer residence of the Marquês de Abrantes, the building has been restored to offer visitors an immersive experience in period environments that reflect the urban residential style of the era. The museum's permanent collection includes over 300 works, including furniture, sculptures, ceramics, and crystals, created by prominent artists such as René Lalique, Jacques-Émile Ruhlmann, Jean-Michel Frank, Jules Leleu, and Alfred Porteneuve. One of the most notable works is a bronze, ivory, and marble sculpture from 1930 by Demétre Chiparus, one of the most important sculptors of the Art Deco era. Some pieces have had famous owners, such as an Art Nouveau piece of furniture that belonged to Barbra Streisand.
