The exhibition "MILAN IN THE '60s. From Lucio Fontana to Piero Manzoni, from Enrico Baj to Bruno Munari" will open on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Palazzo delle Paure.

From July 13 to November 24, 2024, Palazzo delle Paure will host the exhibition "MILAN IN THE '60s. From Lucio Fontana to Piero Manzoni, from Enrico Baj to Bruno Munari", which tells the story of an extraordinary decade in which Milan confirmed its leading role in the international cultural scene.

The exhibition, curated by Simona Bartolena, produced and realized by ViDi cultural, in collaboration with the Municipality of Lecco and the Urban Museum System of Lecco, completes the exhibition cycle "Paths in the Twentieth Century", a program conceived by the Direction of the Urban Museum System of Lecco and entrusted for its design and realization to ViDi Cultural, which analyzes the Italian cultural scene of the 20th century.

The exhibition features 60 works by artists such as Lucio Fontana, Piero Manzoni, Enrico Baj, Bruno Munari, Arturo Vermi, Ugo La Pietra, Gianni Colombo, Grazia Varisco, and others, artists who explore and deepen through their unique poetics and different languages the revolutionary researches that emerged in Milan in the '60s, a decade characterized by a climate of great ferment, a pivotal point for a radical change in contemporary creative thinking.

Unlike previous exhibitions in the "Paths of the Twentieth Century" cycle, which had a broad view of all of Italy, in this final exhibition, the curator has focused on Milan, the pulsating heart of Italian culture at the time. While Pop Art of the Scuola di Piazza del Popolo was growing in Rome and the experience of Arte Povera was born in Turin, Milan saw the spread of more advanced languages on perception, conceptualism, and minimal sign.

This exhibition also presents to the public lesser-known but exceptional artists for their innovative research, and it also focuses on marginal places, outside the Brera district, such as the exceptional experience of the Botteghe di Sesto.
