Saturday 24th September new didactic workshop: You are the sculptor! Mystery Box of Art

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days , the museums of the Lecco Urban Museum System will be exceptionally free. The now consolidated European initiative promoted by the Ministry of Culture and territorially coordinated by the Regional Museums Directorates this year proposes the theme “ Sustainable Heritage. A legacy for the future ".

Furthermore, on Saturday 24 September at 4.30 pm , the Contemporary Art Gallery of Palazzo delle Paure offers the free educational workshop “The sculptor is you! Mystery Box d'Arte ”dedicated to children and families, to learn about the museum heritage of the city of Lecco, specially conceived by Matilde Bianchi and Elena Negri for this initiative.

From the point of view of the proposed theme, the purpose of the activity is to bring young visitors closer to the knowledge of the language of Contemporary Art by experimenting with the techniques of the Arte Povera current, which uses simple and often reused materials such as wood, rags, iron, plastic. A further purpose, therefore, is to sensitize children to environmental sustainability by encouraging them to respect the environment and to recycle objects that, from waste, can become real works of art!

PROGRAM

Presentation of Giuseppe Maraniello's work and technique, thus introducing children to the characteristics of Arte Povera

Educational activity in the laboratory: based on the model of the famous television format, each participant will have to create a sculpture with all or some of the materials found inside a box. In addition to markers, crayons, tempera, children will be encouraged to use reuse items such as plastic bottles, kitchen rolls, waste paper, plastic cutlery, wooden sticks, etc ...
