From 11 March to 9 April 2023
On Saturday 11 March the multimedia exhibition "My hell. Dante, prophet of hope" opens in the Torre Viscontea, in collaboration with the Liceo Leopardi of Lecco.
A unique event dedicated to the Supreme Poet. A journey through images, videos and sounds that leads through Dante's circles, involving the younger generations of Lecco to act as guides.
The exhibition makes use of two fundamental contributions, those of the essayist and pedagogist Franco Nembrini as curator and of the cartoonist and illustrator Gabriele Dell'Otto . Interpretations and evocative images form the leitmotif of the itinerary that leads visitors in front of the verses of Dante Alighieri's "Inferno" (1265-1321) with their own open existential questions, in search of a full meaning for life.
In this way the Great Poet becomes a prophet of hope: a credible and contemporary interlocutor, capable with his words and his concrete examples of confronting the observer with the desire for happiness, to face "his own hell" with hope and courage.
There are 35 stages, punctuated by as many illustrations accompanied by insights and reflections: the visitor finds himself going through Dante's Inferno, immersing himself in a multi-sensory journey made up of projections of images, videos and sounds.
From the "dark forest", a metaphor for the human condition, to the journey between Hell, Purgatory and Paradise where the most iconic encounters can be relived.
