From Tuesday 2 May 2023, the Palazzo delle Paure Contemporary Art Gallery will be closed to the public. The reopening is scheduled for early December, at the end of the exhibition dedicated to the artist Pablo Atchugarry.
The closure will in fact allow the setting up of the exhibition “Pablo Atchugarry. A life between Lecco and the world. Works from 1978 to 2023“, which will find space on the second floor of Palazzo delle Paure. The exhibition will celebrate the long artistic career of the Uruguayan master who, in the 1970s, chose Lecco as his privileged location in order to give life to the form of his sculpture.
In these months the works on display in the Gallery will be reviewed and studied to assess their state of conservation and the need for any restoration work, as well as provide for a new and more comprehensive captioning with explanatory and educational panels.
At the same time, a new layout will be designed which will be created at the end of the exhibition, with new paint schemes, signage and modern display criteria. The objective set is that of a reopening that enhances what the Gallery is able to offer in an even more engaging and attractive way, to arouse the attention of all types of public.
