closed Lucus at Yuval Avital

The show

The Biscozzi Foundation | Rimbaud dedicates his fifth exhibition to Yuval Avital, multifaceted artist and composer. Through the use of numerous media (painting, photography, sculpture, sound installations, video art, performance), Avital develops his works in a variety of spaces, including public places, archaeological sites, industrial sites, theaters and museums of national and international.

In this personal exhibition at the Biscozzi Foundation | Rimbaud Yuval Avital, presents ninety works, partly created specifically, introduces the viewer to the Lucus, the sacred wood. The exhibition develops in four moments between the exhibition spaces. In the collage of expressive means of his artistic making, he makes seemingly distant elements coexist by summarizing them. Forms of archaic appeal, dreamlike paintings, technological plastic-sound assemblages, surreal plaster statuettes and light-boxes suggest a metaphor of the Mediterranean landscape, lost but persistent in memory.
