The Midec - International Museum of Ceramic Design Laveno Mobello is located on the shores of Lake Maggiore. The Museum is housed since 1971 in the sixteenth century Palazzo Perabò. Its opening was possible thanks to the presence of ceramic works from the company Richard Ginori. At this initial deposit they were joined by other ceramic objects belonging to private collections. In recent years other works were added to the collection, thanks to the many donations. The museum now boasts a rich nineteenth and twentieth century Lombard collection of ceramics, in particular Andlovitz remember Guido, one of the architects of the Italian ceramics, and Antonia Campi, designer and ceramicist among the most original and modern. In recent decades the Midec has increased the collection has been enriched with new and original works by contemporary artists. Today, the museum also hosts cultural events and Temporary Exhibitions that allow a constant dialogue with the collection.
