“Bertozzi & Casoni. Tranche de vie”, three locations for a large exhibition in their Imola. From 28 October 2023 to 18 February 2024 the Romagna town will dedicate ample space to the famous artistic duo, with an exhibition event that will involve all three public museums in Imola: Palazzo Tozzoni, Museo San Domenico and Rocca Sforzesca. Curated by Diego Galizzi, director of Imola Musei, the exhibition is organized by the Municipality of Imola - Imola Musei, thanks to the support of various local entities including the Cooperativa Ceramica di Imola, the main partner of the project.

If the section of the exhibition set up at Palazzo Tozzoni represents the heart of the exhibition project, the installation at the Rocca Sforzesca "The Death of Eros" undoubtedly takes on the value of a culminating point from a visual and emotional point of view. Under the centuries-old vault in the bricks of the south-east tower of the fortress, immersed in a bare and austere atmosphere, the suicide of Eros takes place, depicted by the artists in the form of a faun, emblem of the erotic drive. “The Death of Eros” represents one of Bertozzi & Casoni's longest and most troubled projects. Conceived already in 2000, the work represented for years a real inventive and technical challenge for the artists, especially Stefano Dal Monte Casoni, who recently passed away. The completion of the undertaking now, a few months after the loss of one of the two souls of the "target company", is a significant signal of how much a sort of creative osmosis has been achieved between the two artists, thanks to which, still , everything is possible.
