The Black and White House Museum, formerly known as the Old House, is a characteristic black and white half-timbered house in High Town, Hereford, England, dating back to 1621. It became a museum of Jacobin life in 1929 and a listed building in 1952. It was part of Butchers' Row. Over the centuries, the house has been used for various purposes, there have been butchers, hardware stores and bankers. Hereford's Old House (now called the Black and White House Museum) features the Butchers Guild crest. The coat of arms above the front door is that of the Worshipful Company of Butchers, although Hereford is said to have had its own butchers' guild when the house was built. The Old House is a museum decorated in the style of the time. Items on display include jewelry and murals. The museum beds include at least one from Penrhyn Old Hall. The museum has displays on three floors. Access to the upper floors is via stairs, although the ground floor is fully accessible.
