The exhibition house of the Falckenberg Collection in the Phoenix factory halls in Hamburg-Harburg was opened in 2008 and has been an important part of the Deichtorhallen Hamburg since 2011. The private collection of Harald Falckenberg, which focuses on German and American contemporary art from the 1980s, is presented there on more than 6,000 square meters and five floors.

The rooms of the listed factory building, redesigned by the Berlin architect Roger Bundschuh, provide the architectural framework for the collection. The cascading stairwell and the open design always give rise to new perspectives on the works of art in the current themed and special exhibitions. The spacious room concept enables the permanent presentation of impressive installations and multimedia projects by artists such as John Bock, Anne Oppermann, Thomas Hirschhorn, Mike Kelley, Jon Kessler, Jonathan Meese or Gregor Schneider.

Numerous solo exhibitions have been presented in the Falckenberg Collection since 2011: Marilyn Minter (2011), Monica Bonvicini (2012), Santiago Sierra (2013), William S. Burroughs (2013), Philip Guston (2014), Gianfranco Baruchello (2014), Lynn Hershman Leeson (2015), Raymond Pettibon (2016), Hanne Darboven (2017), Astrid Klein (2018) and Katharina Sieverding (2021).

A special feature of the exhibition building is the sliding warehouse, which can be visited as part of guided tours of the collection. Visitors get an overview of the entire collection and thus also have access to works that are not currently on display. The Falckenberg Collection exhibitions can be visited as part of guided tours. These always take place from Thursday to Sunday. In addition, you have the opportunity to visit the Falckenberg Collection every first Sunday of the month from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. without registering.
