The Museum of Costume and Tradition of Guardiagrele is located in the historic center of the city in the province of Chieti. The Museum was founded in the 80s and is on the ground floor of the convent of San Francesco. The museum is also developed in the cloister of the church of San Francesco dating back to 1100. The museum is home to about seven hundred exhibits that relate to the history of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The museum houses a collection made up of objects that tell the everyday life of the patriarchal family, peasant and artisan. The rooms are perfectly reconstructed according to tradition. For example, it is a kitchen was rebuilt with the nineteenth tools with a space dedicated to the weaving and spinning. There are spaces for craft activities with a specific collection of old tools of the artisans and a section devoted to jewelery and women's clothing.
