The 31st edition of the 'Mediterraneo' Contemporary Ceramics Competition arrives this year, an event started in Grottaglie (Ta) in 1971 with the aim of enhancing and promoting international contemporary art that uses ceramic material as an expressive medium. Out of 211 applications from different countries around the world, the jury selected 47 works that make up the exhibition, which can be visited until October 6, 2024, inside the Episcopio Castle, home of the Ceramics Museum. During the opening on July 13, the following awards were presented: - The Best Work Award to Lei Shao with the piece Slow Moving Shadow; - The Second Prize 'Solo Exhibition' to Ielizaveta Portnova with the piece "Winter Doe"; - The Third Prize 'Artist Residency' to Ying Zheng with the piece "Purity of true feelings (Multicolors I)". The Jury also awarded honorable mentions to Kimie Ino, Michael Rice, Danijela Pivasevic Tenner, Terenzio Sonda, and Francesco Spagnulo. Exhibition hours: Monday to Thursday 10 am - 1 pm / 4 pm - 7 pm Friday to Sunday 10 am - 1 pm / 4 pm - 10 pm
