14 July 2016. Parliament inaugurates the first Women's Room in Montecitorio. Event that involved the National Council of Tertiary Donna Confcommercio, since then the promoter of similar realities throughout Italy. Being able to know the faces and stories of women who have made our country great, urges a reflection on how far has been traveled and how much still needs to be done. A permanent gallery, set up in the spaces of Sala Liguria, presents 14 portraits of women who lived in very different eras and contexts, which have significantly contributed to the material and spiritual progress of society.

The room is dedicated to Maria Rosa Gavioli (Genoa 1929 - 2013), an entrepreneur ahead of her time. The portraits were made with the digital technique by the Genoese illustrator Nicola Parrella; the graphic design of the room is by Chiara Scavino.

During the inauguration event, the Manifesto of Tertiary Woman will be presented and the concert “Women and music” by the Accademia del Chiostro will follow.
