From 12 June to 23 August Palazzo Ducale hosts one of the most famous paintings in the history of art: The Water Lilies by Claude Monet, one of the masters of Impressionism.
An opportunity for a special visit, face to face with the work that comes from the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris. A few exclusive minutes, alone or with family members, to admire one of the most famous paintings by the great impressionist painter up close.
Palazzo Ducale Foundation for Culture in collaboration with the Municipality of Genoa with this initiative intends to make social distancing an opportunity for an immersive and exciting aesthetic experience.
This exhibition is a challenge to the rediscovery of contemplation, contact and the expressive power of a work. In a time that forces us to build barriers to protect ourselves, the Ducale's invitation is that of a direct encounter with a masterpiece, to listen to what art with great narrative capacity manages to say about itself, but also about us . More than any other, it is Monet, who with his fluid and enveloping painting, with his personal yet universal narration, can allow us to win this challenge.
