The international exhibition of contemporary illustrators has reached its fourteenth edition and, as every year, returns to the Frugone Collections in an exhibition itinerary organized in two distinct sections.
One is dedicated to the illustrators who participated in the annual illustration competition interpreting the CAOS theme, a selection of 48 authors chosen by the jury chaired by the famous Argentine artist Guillermo Mordillo among 975 participants from 50 countries around the world.
The second section is dedicated to him, instead, to Mordillo, protagonist of an exhibition of over 100 works, a retrospective - entitled The tenderness of fear - of his most significant illustrations, starting from the original works of the early 1950s. up to the most current works, from drawings on sport - in particular golf and football - to irreverent tables on love and the couple; from the tables taken from the books to the preparatory sketches, without forgetting his cute animals, with great emphasis on the famous and unforgettable giraffes that in 2018 celebrated the 50th anniversary of their creation.
The International competition has been an important moment for years that sees established and emerging artists grappling with the theme proposed by Tapirulan, giving life to innovative, creative works ready to enrich the world of illustration in particular, of art in general in a new way. , generating curiosity in the public and among professionals.
