From 12 June to 31 July 2022
The Floriano Bodini Civic Museum of Gemonio proposes the exhibition "Every day a painted word. Silvio Zanella, works 1948-1966", curated by Lara Treppiede and Emma Zanella, as part of the first edition of the ARCHIVIFUTURI Festival , organized by the Archives network of Contemporary. Lombardy land of artists, winning project of the Integrated Plans of Culture - PIC 2020/2022.
The exhibition, which opened on Sunday 12 June, fully leads into the creative universe of the Gallaratese artist, characterized by constant research on the constructive capacities of the pictorial color, extraordinarily reminiscent of life, of the fluxus sanguinis that circulates among living beings, yet so mental , thought and elaborated to achieve almost abstract-informal compositional results.
"Zanella's work begins with a language that, leaving the early experiments indebted to a twentieth-century realism - writes Emma Zanella - looks to Picasso's postcubism, to the teaching of a painting capable of breaking down the pictorial surface into non-rigid geometric fragmentations that let us understand the close link with reality. A language that marks its own time, which brings the young painter closer to the cultural and artistic climate of the immediate post-war period and which is progressively overcome in favor of a free, flexible naturalism of signs, capable of giving dynamism, light, structure on the pictorial surface, up to the horizontal compositions where pure painting is guided by an elegant compositional rigor that abstracts the painting from the immediacy of reality ".
