The Wood Day - included in the JEMA Program of the European Days of Art Professions 2022 - is the fifth appointment of the Artisan Arts Days organized annually in May at the Floriano Bodini Civic Museum in Gemonio , in the province of Varese . After the success of the previous days dedicated to bronze casting, art printing and engraving, marble, ceramics, this year the focus is on the ancient world of wood, from the workshops to the hands of the artist.

As in previous editions, a day and an exhibition are dedicated to an artisan art, an art profession. This event aims to investigate and recover the charm of craftsmanship, combined with the world of contemporary art, with the attention paid to some production realities attentive to the importance of the traditions present in the national territory that are in dialogue with artists, craftsmen.

During the day manual workshops will be offered with Adelio Cicolini and Patrizia Dell'Acqua, demonstrations of woodworking, artistic performances by Samuele Arcangioli and Paolo Bianchi. The exhibition “Agostino Pisani. The narration of everyday objects ”curated by Fabrizia Buzio Negri, which presents a selection of wooden works from the seventies and nineties. Actress Marta Comerio presents a performance on Pisani's work “Il poeta's dress”. The wood samples of the territory selected and classified by Enrico Gasparini find space in the Museum, alongside tools used precisely for woodworking.
