From 24 November to 2 February 2020
Accepted the Artsupp Card
From 24 November 2019 to 19 January 2020, the MA * GA hosts the personal exhibition of Luca Missoni (born in 1956), he has always cultivated a great passion for the Moon. The interest in this celestial body originates in his childhood when he began to explore its surface with a small telescope , right in the 1960s when space programs made possible the first lunar explorations. Subsequently this passion led him to photograph in a rigorous, almost scientific way, the changing appearance of the Moon, pursuing over the years his own artistic project which is realized in the publication of a Moon Altlas . To do this, Missoni always photographs the Moon from the same position and with the same instrument. The color obtained during the printing of his negatives constitutes one of the two main variables in his project: the other is, of course, the shadow line that marks the phases.
"Photographing the Moon has become like scientific research," says Missoni. "To see how it changes in terms of light on the surface, I have always tried to replicate the same dimensions and shades."
