From 20 December to 4 May 2025
Over 50 photographs by the famous American photographer Steve McCurry explore an exciting journey on childhood. It is the only thematic exhibition entirely dedicated to children, created over almost fifty years of Steve McCurry's career. The images alternate between war and poetry, suffering and joy, wonder and irony.
The new appointment with "Il tempo delle mostre" returns to Palazzo dei Priori in Fermo, this time dedicated to the art of the famous American photographer Steve McCurry.
From December 20, 2024, to May 4, 2025, the rooms of the Palace host the exhibition "Steve McCurry - Children," conceived and curated by Biba Giacchetti. The exhibition inaugurates an exciting journey on childhood seen through the lens of Steve McCurry, one of the most beloved photographers in the world.
With over 50 photographs, the public will have the opportunity to admire the only thematic exhibition entirely dedicated to children, created over almost fifty years of career. The images, coming from every corner of the world, depict children in everyday life scenes, paying tribute to this extraordinary period of life.
In Fermo, an extraordinary gallery of portraits explores all the facets of childhood, united by a universal element: the gaze of innocence. The children immortalized by McCurry, despite their differences in ethnicity, clothing, and traditions, share the same inexhaustible energy, the joy of living, and the ability to play even in the most difficult contexts, often marked by poverty, conflicts, or extreme environmental conditions. The visitor will be guided on an ideal journey alongside McCurry, through countries like India, Burma, Pakistan, Tibet, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Ethiopia, and Cuba.
