PIFANIE OF HOPE
An exhibition project dedicated to the art of Pietro Lenzini and curated by Giovanni Gardini.

The exhibition, conceived on the occasion of the Jubilee of Hope, presents a series of works focused on the figure of the Crucifix. The theme of sacred art has long accompanied Lenzini's artistic experience, so much so that it is a very important hallmark of his decade-long activity.
The artist addresses the theme of sacred art not only from a personal point of view, but often his production has been linked to important ecclesiastical commissions in the Faenza area.

In this exhibition, the figure of the crucified Christ emerges in all its beauty and humanity where, to the inevitable theme of passion and death on the cross, is added, disruptive, the theme of Hope of life beyond death, of the Resurrection. In fact, Lenzini's Crucifixes, both oil paintings and drawings, are never tragic, but they hold a tension towards Glory.

On the occasion of the exhibition, and as an integral part of it, we will exhibit a precious eighteenth-century terracotta recently restored thanks to the generous and fundamental contribution of the Lions Club Faenza Lioness. This terracotta, attributed to the production of the Bolognese school, had long been kept in storage as the conservation conditions did not allow for its display.
After the restoration, carried out by Michele Pagani, this dramatic yet delicate crucifixion scene has regained its original colors and full readability.
At the end of the exhibition, it will be permanently displayed in our collection.

Extremely evocative works with a strong scenic impact that will interact with each other and with the spaces of the ancient halls of the Episcopal Palace of Faenza.
