Galimberti House Museum

Galimberti House Museum

The Casa Galimberti Museum is located at number 6 of Piazza Galimberti in what was the private home and professional studio of Tancredi Galimberti senior, lawyer, liberal deputy, minister of the post office in the Zanardelli government and then senator of the fascist kingdom, and later, by Tancredi Galimberti junior, "Duccio", Gold Medal of the Resistance, proclaimed National Hero by the Piedmontese CLN, Gold Medal for Military Valor.

Along the museum itinerary, the public is offered a journey back in time, at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, in the history of the Galimberti family, which intertwined its events with the city and national ones. Passing through the rooms you can admire works of art by famous painters including Lorenzo Delleani, Giacomo Grosso, Matteo Olivero and sculptors such as Bistolfi and Godet, as well as breathing the atmosphere of when the family lived in those places.

Available to scholars is the large library consisting of more than 27,000 volumes and the rich family archive. Free admission with guided tour at 3.30pm and 5pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. During the week by reservation
