From 22 November to 29 March 2026
With the exhibition The Borghese Gallery. From Raphael to Bernini. History of a collection, Fondazione CRC and Intesa Sanpaolo inaugurate a new chapter of the collaboration that since 2022 brings to Cuneo great protagonists of art history. The exhibition, curated by Francesca Cappelletti and Ettore Giovanati, will be open to the public at the Monumental Complex of San Francesco from November 22, 2025, to March 29, 2026, with the organizational support of MondoMostre.
The project consolidates and renews – projecting it into a new three-year period – the exhibition cycle started with The Colors of Faith in Venice: Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese (2022), Lorenzo Lotto and Pellegrino Tibaldi. Masterpieces from the Holy House of Loreto (2023) and Canaletto, van Wittel, Bellotto. The Grand Theater of Cities (2024) thanks to the collaboration between Fondazione CRC − always active in supporting and promoting cultural activities aimed at enhancing the role and recognizability of the Cuneo territory as a center of artistic production − and Intesa Sanpaolo − which, through the Culture Project, expresses its commitment to promoting art and culture in our country.
The exhibition tells the extraordinary collecting journey of Cardinal Scipione Caffarelli Borghese (1577–1633), a central figure in seventeenth-century Rome and an absolute protagonist of the Baroque art scene. A visionary patron and tireless collector, Scipione was able to shape a modern model of collecting, based on criteria of quality and aesthetic coherence, capable of combining personal taste and dynastic legitimation.
