Q Contemporary is a private museum of contemporary art located in the heart of Budapest, in an elegant historic villa at 110 Andrássy Avenue, a UNESCO street and a symbol of the city's architecture. Founded by the collector Queenie Rosita Law, born in Hong Kong, the museum was inaugurated in September 2021 and houses the collection developed since 2017, with the aim of promoting the artistic scene of Central and Eastern Europe.
Q Contemporary presents approximately 80-100 works by emerging and established artists from the region from the 1960s to the present day. The collection highlights figures such as Wanda Czełkowska, Ilona Keserü, Đorđe Ivačković, Mira Brtka, alongside young contemporary artists like Kamen Stoyanov. The exhibitions rotate frequently, exploring themes related to post-communist memory, regional identity, and aesthetic dialogue between East and East.
The institution is active in educational promotion: it organizes international webinars, guided tours for students, and collaborative talks with universities, foundations, and art fairs. Q Contemporary has also set up satellite exhibitions in London and Hong Kong, contributing to the global visibility of Eastern artists.
