Lukas Schäfer, born in 1992, hails from St.Georgen/San Giorgio in the Pustertal valley. He grew up between the Dolomites and the main ridge of the Alps. Even when he was a young child, his parents would show him the mountains. Ever since then, Lukas has been fascinated by nature, its landscapes, its details, and its animals. Lukas competed in professional freeskiing events before he got injured and discovered nature photography. He was immediately captivated. From that moment on, Lukas has rediscovered the mountains and their inhabitants time and time again with his camera. His passion would eventually turn into a profession. Some of his photographs and films have already won international awards. His debut book titled “Südtirol, Secrets of Nature” is a collection of photos and stories from South Tyrol and its border regions.
