The exhibition MASSIMO SESTINI. ZENITH OF PHOTOGRAPHY tells over forty years of Massimo Sestini's career through the main episodes of contemporary Italian history such as the massacre of Capaci, the sinking of the Costa Concordia, the earthquake of L'Aquila.
MARE NOSTRUM, the iconic photograph of the overcrowded migrant boat, awarded in 2015 with the World Press Photo, among the images on display at the Museum of Santa Giulia.
The unprecedented exhibition presents a selection of images capable of telling over forty years of Massimo Sestini's career, with particular attention to the themes dear to him, such as immigration and the main episodes of contemporary Italian history: the massacre of Capaci, the sinking of the Costa Concordia, the earthquake of L'Aquila, the tragedy of the Moby Prince, the funeral of Giovanni Paolo II, the funeral of Benedict XVI, and much more.
