From 8 March to 28 July 2024
From 8 March to 28 July 2024, as part of Testimoni, the seventh edition of the Brescia Photo Festival , the Santa Giulia Museum hosts an exhibition which commemorates, on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary, the Piazza della Loggia massacre of 28 May 1974 , in which 8 people lost their lives.
Starting from some of the photographs in Renato Corsini 's portfolio, one of the most lucid testimonies of those tragic days, Maurizio Galimberti creates, following his compositional grammar, a large installation, born from an idea by Paolo Ludovici, with 40 compositions and a series of Polaroid 50×60 cm , in which he breaks down and re-semantizes, according to his most characteristic expressive style, the images of that period reportage, as well as posters, newspaper articles, drawings and thus allowing the public to reflect, also through photographic medium, on the scope and drama of that tragic and very serious event.
