The Weserburg Museum für moderne Kunst is an important exhibition space in Bremen dedicated to modern and contemporary art. Opened in 1991, the museum is located on the Teerhof peninsula, on the River Weser, in four former coffee roasting warehouses. The museum does not have its own permanent collection, but organizes several temporary exhibitions every year. The exhibitions cover the most influential international contemporary artists, especially art from the 1960s to today. With a varied educational program that includes concerts, lectures, performances, film screenings and readings as well as weekly guided tours through the house exhibitions, the Weserburg sees itself as an important cultural hotspot for Bremen and Germany.
