Hunger is the best cook, 15,000 years ago, just as it is today. This temporary exhibition aims to delve into the menu of our ancestors, to analyze the origin, preparation, preservation of food, and utensils used. Special attention is paid to local eating habits and regional archaeological finds.

Alongside the historical and cultural aspects, this multifaceted exhibition reveals how our ancestors were never short of ideas to satisfy their appetite and procure provisions.

Products such as meat, fish, honey, cereals, and wild fruits were known since the dawn of civilization. Others, like legumes, aromatic herbs, and some varieties of cereals - now taken for granted by us - were introduced to Europe by migratory movements that have characterized human history. Food traditions, such as milk processing or viticulture, which we are very familiar with today, were imported from Mediterranean regions in different eras.
