The Harald Sæverud Museum Siljustøl, simply known as Siljustøl, is the historic residence of the Norwegian composer Harald Sæverud (1897–1992) and his wife Marie Hvoslef. Located in the district of Rådal, in Bergen, the building is surrounded by a 176-hectare natural park that Sæverud himself designed as a source of musical inspiration. The villa was completed in 1939 following modern lines and traditional Norwegian influences, designed in collaboration with the architect Ludolf Eide Parr.
The main visit includes the composer's old studio, with the concert grand piano and personal items left as he used them until 1992. The internal concert hall, the creative heart of the house, is still used for celebratory concerts and guided tours by appointment in the summer. The external park, crossed by scenic trails and a lake, is always accessible and hosts a free audio guide tour that combines truly immersive musical pieces and narrated stories.
