From 30 May to 6 January 2020
Accepted the Artsupp Card
From 30 May 2019 to 6 January 2020 the rooms of the GAMeC - Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery of Bergamo will host Libera. Tra Warhol, Vedova and Christo , the second project of the La Collezione Impermanente cycle, the platform that from 2018 aims to make the museum's collection a tool for activating memories and involving the public through the use of innovative exhibition formats.
Conceived as a tribute to creative freedom and emancipation from the constraints of tradition, the exhibition project was born from the encounter between the GAMeC collections and a nucleus of prestigious works confiscated in Lombardy and managed by the National Agency for the administration of seized assets , and presents to the public a rich selection of works by some of the most famous international artists of the second half of the twentieth century.
Transferred to the Municipality of Bergamo at the behest of the Regional Secretariat of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities for Lombardy, the confiscated collection is placed for the first time in dialogue with the GAMeC Collection , and offers a unique opportunity for knowledge and study of the most important international artistic currents - from Informal to Geometric Abstraction, from Nouveau Réalisme to Pop Art, from Minimalism to Arte Povera - through stimulating comparisons and associations.
