The exhibition aims to highlight the human and artistic story of one of the three Italians who attended the Bauhaus, read through an anthology of engravings, graphics, paintings and vintage photographs. Bortoluzzi (Karlsruhe 1905 – Peschici 1995), born in Germany and pupil of Kandinsky and Klee, in the 1950s chose Puglia, in particular the city of Peschici, as a retreat for the last forty years of his life. The light and colors of Peschici, in fact, contributed to fueling a series of inner correspondences in the artist, inspired by the force of nature, the hospitality of the people and the Mediterranean energy of the Gargano.
The exhibition offers an anthology of original works that trace the artistic career of Bortoluzzi from the years of his training at the Dessau school, including his activity as a dancer and choreographer, up to the 1950s, when he arrived in Puglia and resumed his pictorial activity. bringing to maturity his expressive registers and his poetic language. The exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday 10 December , at 18.00 , and will remain open until 28 January 2023.
