In the heart of Barcelona's Eixample stands the extraordinary Basilica of the Sagrada Família, the visionary work of Antoni Gaudí, begun in 1882 and still under construction. This unique monument in the world is one of the most recognizable symbols of Barcelona and represents the pinnacle of Catalan modernism.
The basilica is characterized by three monumental facades: the Nativity, rich in sculpted details celebrating life, the Passion, more austere and dramatic, and the Glory, dedicated to spiritual rebirth. Inside, inclined columns and multicolored stained glass create a bright and evocative environment, inspired by nature and the tree as a living structure.
The opening of the central tower dedicated to Jesus is planned for 2026, on the centenary of Gaudí's death, while the final completion of the entire work is estimated around 2034. The construction, although unfinished, continues to attract millions of visitors thanks to its architectural beauty and profound religious symbolism.
