The show

Like the many exhibitions that take place in Asti, the Theater Costume organized by the Guglielminetti Foundation also contains precious treasures.

One of the many is the sketch by set designer Leon Bakst, Rimskij-Korsakov's «Shéhérazade» imagined in 1910 for a Parisian show by Diaghilev's famous Ballets Russes.

We find names such as Emanuele Luzzati, Corrado Cagli, Benois, Zarbier who have made the history of the theater.

The exhibition offers 40 sketches for stage costumes signed by great masters of the 20th century international scenography.

The works of the Asti authors are also striking and they integrate perfectly, signed by Guglielminetti himself, Antonio Guarene, Ottavio Coffano, Mario Perosino.

We move from historical works such as the 1922 watercolor by Frenchman George Zarbier to "Prince Igor" by Borodin by Nicola Benois. The twentieth-century tradition is also represented by a drawing by Corrado Cagli, a "Turandot" by Fernando Ghelli, sketches by Giovanni Agostinucci for the tenor Placido Domingo in "I Pagliacci" by Leoncavallo at the Arena di Verona in 1995. And again the costumes by Marisa D'Andrea Polidori, the figure for "Curzio" created in 1957 by Maurizio Monteverde for "The devotion of the cross" by Calderon De La Barca at the Sant'Erasmo Theater in Milan, and much more.
