The Zoomart cultural association with the patronage of the Marche Region, the Province of Ascoli Piceno and the Municipality of Ascoli Piceno present, from 14 January to 30 April 2024 at Palazzo dei Capitani in Ascoli Piceno, the Omar Galliani exhibition. The echo of the Sibyl, edited by Stefano Papetti.

The exhibition, which follows the personal exhibition of the Emilian artist recently concluded at Palazzo Reale in Milan, develops through an exhibition itinerary that includes over forty works divided into seven different thematic rooms, paying homage to the master of drawing Omar Galliani who has long operates in close synergy with the Ascoli area.

In fact, the first important exhibition of Galliani's works, created by the city of Ascoli Piceno, dates back to 2004 in the rooms of the Osvaldo Licini Contemporary Art Gallery, which was followed in the same year by the Quintana palio created by the artist on the occasion of the festivities in honor of Sant'Emidio. Galliani's work is still present in the exhibition homage to Cecco d'Ascoli, set up in 2021 at the Forte Malatesta in Ascoli Piceno.

This link with the territory is once again demonstrated by the new section created specifically by Galliani for this exhibition in Ascoli - and which takes its title from it - inspired by the myth of the Picene Sibyl, also known as the Apennine Sibyl, an identifying image of the territory: between on the peaks of the Sibillini Mountains lived a woman of extraordinary beauty, interlocutor between heaven and earth, between the divine and the human. The artist's celestial poetics echoes on the panels on display, linked to infinite skies and universes of distant stars. Galliani's sibyls are graphite women with closed eyes, caught in a deep moment of meditation. On the faces of these enigmatic figures, the letter  appears, engraved like a red pigment tattoo: the beginning of the prophecy, the origin of everything.
