The winged figure is painted in the center of the vault against the clear sky and represents one of the most original inventions of the Genoese painter. Fame, Jupiter's messenger, is recognizable by the inevitable attribute: the long blaring trumpet. It is almost certain that the fame to be celebrated was that of the Balbi family, owner of the house in the seventeenth century. The three astral signs on the left could allude to one or more family members. There is also a fish quite similar to the one present in the Balbi coat of arms. Moreover, the Fame dei Balbi seems to be represented only in its positive meaning, without the second trumpet, alluding to slander.
