This metallic point drawing on prepared paper has been associated with the name of Raphael for many years, for the elegance and expressiveness of the sign. Traced back to Pietro Perugino on the occasion of this exhibition, it is probably a life drawing, with a boy from his workshop used as a model. The artist uses an archaic technique, difficult to use because it does not allow second thoughts since the line left by the metallic stylus on the prepared paper cannot be erased. The draftsman first sketches the figure with rapid strokes and then, with successive strokes of the stylus, gives a plastic form to the represented subject, also using watercolor ink and touches of white lead to accentuate the sculptural relief.
