After studying architecture, his interest is focused on photography. After ten years at Agence Vu, he joined Magnum Photos as a nominee in 2001, becoming a full member in 2005. He worked for “Newsweek” for ten years. In his career he has received multiple international awards, including the Robert Capa Gold Medal Award. In 2006 he was awarded the W. Eugene Smith Grant in Humanistic Photography.
