Monica Rea - Gustav Mahler is the composer of the music that the quartet was playing at that moment, Mount Vesuvius, as we will see later, serves to contextualize the scene and strengthen the concepts expressed by the work. They is written in quotation marks and refers to the musicians. "They" has a double meaning: "they" and "gold", this play on words serves to emphasize that the quartet is the richness of Naples: it symbolizes creativity, commitment, passion, energy, and the hospitality of the entire Neapolitan territory. In the background, you can clearly see the lights of the Gulf of Naples reaching the quartet and merging with the sound of the keys coming from the piano. The music that emanates from the piano illuminates the surrounding landscape and vice versa, the surrounding landscape is influenced by the music. The musicians are an integral part of the scene and absorb and release vibrations as if it were their own breath. The atmosphere is not relaxed: the music is pressing, it is a fast alternation of sweet notes to strong notes. The sound waves vibrate with impetus, spread in the air, and reach us carried by the wind and the sea waves. The chosen technique was specifically designed to highlight the "sign" in honor of Valenzi. Before creating the work, a careful study of Valenzi's drawings and videos was carried out, aimed at the perfect success of a work that could represent the pathos of the musical performance experienced by the artist and at the same time also respond to two main aesthetic needs: the scrupulous respect of the terms set by the "call" and the inclusion of graphic elements that vaguely recalled Valenzi's sign.
