A precious sculpture in pastiglia and stucco, depicting Hercules with the club and modeled by the famous Mannerist sculptor Giambologna, is one of the most loved works by the collector Gianfranco Luzzetti: before donating it to the Poor Clares, Luzzetti reserved for it a place of honor by keeping it on the desk of the his studio in Florence. The work, which probably belonged to the wealthy banker Bernardo Vecchietti (who hosted Giambologna in Florence from 1552), is not a study sketch but a real independent sculpture inspired by the series of Bargello bronzes reproducing the Labors of Hercules (1576-1589 ) .
