Waves Only Exist Because the Wind Blows is the title of the new monumental-scale intervention by eL Seed that stands out on the external walls of the "Cubo" at Pirelli HangarBicocca, covering a total surface of 1000 square meters, visible also from the adjacent area of Sesto San Giovanni, from the adjacent road, and from the neighboring railway. The site-specific work was commissioned and produced as part of the project "Outside the Cube", dedicated to transient art forms linked to the public context and born in 2016 with the creation of the work "Efêmero" by OSGEMEOS.
For Pirelli HangarBicocca, eL Seed creates an artwork that celebrates the common journey and the need to belong to a place. Shaped like a wave that perfectly embodies the theme of coming and going, the composition interprets the wisdom of Cesare Pavese and his famous phrase from the novel "La Luna e i falò": "A country is needed, if only for the pleasure of leaving it."
Through eL Seed's distinctive visual language, this work amplifies its own meaning, addresses everyone, and speaks of our collective memories and layers of our identity.
